Diamond Willow Artisan Retreat and the artists involved with our Grand Opening are pleased to support the efforts of the Rowan House Emergency Shelter by donating proceeds from Plein Air paintings sold at the silent auction. Rowan House provides women and their children a safe environment that nourishes feelings of self-worth, lends an opportunity for healing and personal growth, and provides space to facilitate transition into the community.
Now, we are proud to partner with the Soup Sisters. We will be supporting Rowan House Emergency Shelter with nurturing and nourishing soups beginning February, 2011. Every second month our kitchen will be opened up for an evening of giving back to the community. Soup Sisters is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to providing comfort to women, children and youth through the making, sharing and donating of soup. All of our Soup Sisters events will be Chef facilitated by Chef Darren Nixon of divine in Okotoks, who has a strong belief that food should provide warmth and comfort. Since coming to the Diamond Valley area in 2006, Pat and Doug have been active in various community events.

Joining the local Chamber of Commerce they were instrumental in putting on an Art in the Heart of the Cowboy Trail art show. By encouraging positive idea sharing, Doug and Pat support the growth and success of local businesses.

As lovers of fine music the Beneath the Arch concert series was a natural fit as well. These groups of volunteers promote great live music events in our community.

Diamond Willow Artisan Retreat is an active partner in the Flavours of the Foothills. We are a group people who are excited about where we live and what we do. We invite you to come and experience all the wonderful things that the Foothills of Southern Alberta has to offer. Flavours of the Foothills members are all within 45 minutes drive of south Calgary. These businesses are owned by individual families who are committed to their vision of a vibrant, exciting community.
With our obvious love for the Arts, we hope you take the time to enjoy the variety of talent that resides in our areas. If you are interested in seeing the newsletters, please click the links below:
